Lets see...Pete corrected me on the Clean Ladder total for him....he got 23 not 22. Lo ciento Pedro.

He did the WOD on friday with Marisa...and I am probably going to get this wrong but I believe he got 8 on the lowest. However I think it was higher but I was beginning to feel pretty sick & was lacsidasical while watching the two of them. Originally I wasn't going to workout but decided at the last minute to get "something" in...knowing i'll be laid up from my surgery in 2 weeks I need to get strong. So I did DL 5....205 but on the last rep I was in poor form & Pete advised to drop so I did to 195 & was spot on. Still dizzy & feeling weak I did a very poor Elizabeth. I did however do full weight only mod was on the dips after I couldn't do anymore w/o a band at 10 I used that non-colored super skinny band (single strap). 10:15 & ready to puke!

Saturday - Pete and I really needed to have time alone & sleep in since he just returned from deployment.

Sunday - We got up early & headed out for a 30 min run in our backyard - the Mission Gorge Trails. I ran with Greta (who was really making me pull her along after 20 mins...not fun!) Pete picked it up on the last 10 while I tried but had issues due to poor Greta not able to keep up. Pete did say I ended up running 40 secs faster on our way back (15 out 15 back). Had I not had Greta I may have done faster! Running is my life! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! FYI: If anyone plans to go out there I HIGHLY suggest using TRAIL shoes. We got some awhile back and they really save your ankles.
After the run met our friends at Broken Yolk to chow down on some zone yummy omelettes. Towards the end of breakfast I was feeling a truly sore throat, body was beginning to ache & I told Pete my eyes were starting to itch. We got out of there to do some shopping...by the time we got home boy was I sick! I was hot, aching, grumpy, sneezing, stuffed up...I'm officially sick. I would like to blame this all on PETE!!! HE HAD TO HAVE BROUGHT BACK SOME WEST PAC VIRUS!

Forum: WOD LOGS

The Introduction

So it's about time I started a workout journal. My journal is going to be slightly different though, I plan on posting my workouts along with my random musings on exercises, sports, human performance and general fitness philosophies. There will likely be little to no structure to how I do this, ideas will go in as I get them based on random whims. Discussion is encouraged, however, if you really want to get in-depth you might want to start up a new thread about that particular idea. The point of this thread is to just be my idea dumping ground. Be warned, things might get weird...

I will officially begin logging workouts on Monday as that will be my first week fully back on the regular program after finishing out my Strength Cycle. When I say "the regular program" that should be taken with a grain of salt though as I'm pretty much always doing some kind of weird side project. That's just what I do. It's fun.

Good morning.

Forum: WOD LOGS

Rocket Race Saturday morning, Ultimate Frisbee later?

Erwin and I are doing this Saturday morning. It starts @ 9am at Balboa Park so if anyone wants to join mid-race, cool.

I was thinking a game of ultimate frisbee in the park afterwards @ 2-3pm would be boss. Anyone?

Just a reminder that the 2008 San Diego Rocket Race is this Saturday! We have 13 teams brave enough to face the "Alien Invasion" and compete for the $100 first place prize (and $30 get-your-entry-fee-back second prize).

Race details:

Saturday, November 8

Starting line:

In front of the San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park (need directions? go to http://www.sandiegoairandspace.org/visit/directions.html)

Team check-in and rules review: 8:30 am (please bring team registration fee of $30) Race start time is 9:00 am

The forecast for Saturday is supposed to be clear with temperatures reaching the mid 70s. You might be out and about all day, so dress accordingly.

Each team should bring one mobile phone and provide the number to us in case we need to contact you during the race. Each team should also probably bring a pen. Additionally each team needs to provide their own vehicle with at least one person qualified and insured as a driver for that vehicle. The vehicle needs to have enough seat belts for the entire team and the team needs to travel together. Obey all traffic laws!

There will be a mandatory lunch break during the race at a place where different types of food will be available for sale. Please bring cash for lunch (or just bring a lunch).

Some tips for the race:

You can use any resource at your disposal in your quest to solve the clues to find the next checkpoint - feel free to bring maps, internet-enabled devices, sonic screwdrivers, water, snacks, coinage for miscellaneous expenses, friends back at home to call to do research for you, neuralyzers, comfortable walking or running shoes, mascots, etc.

If you get stuck during the race, your team can call us for help - but our help comes at a cost. A 5 minute penalty will be given if you want us to answer a yes or no question, and a 15 minute penalty will be given if you want us to answer a broader question.

http://www.sdrocketrace.com/rocketrace2008

See you all on race day!

James and Dan

San Diego Rocket Race

www.sdrocketrace.com

"An Amazing Race for Sci-Fi Fans"

Forum: CrossFit SoCal Community

Brooke's WOD Log

Hi Everyone! After some encouraging from Nuno I am starting a log. A little background on me, I started Krista's Bridal Bootcamp this past June to get in shape for my Aug wedding. After my first day of Crossfit I was sold, and then I saw inches melt away which made me love it even more. I have dropped 3in off of my waist and 2.5 off of my hips. The most amazing thing, I think, is that I can now do unassisted pull-ups!
11/6
DL-5
150
21-15-9
Power Clean and Ring Dips
63lbs/blue band
11:30

Forum: WOD LOGS
